ORDER

The Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner praying for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation, dated 23.01.2015 and sanction political pension for the petitioner by including the petitioner in the list of descendants of King Maruthu Pandiyar Brothers.

2. Mr.M.Murugan, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents.

3. By consent, this Writ Petition itself is taken up final disposal.

4.It is averred in the petition that the Government of Tamil Nadu through G.O.Ms.No.1143, dated 19.07.1982, sanctioned political pension of Rs.150/- per mensum to each family of the descendants of Marudhu Pandiar brothers of Sivaganga. It is further averred that the petitioner is the son of One.Rajalakshmi, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

whose brothers are receiving political pension. As per G.O.Ms.No.1143, dated 19.07.1982, the petitioner is also entitled to receive political pension. The petitioner's relatives also filed W.P(MD)Nos.7234 and 7235 of 2009 seeking for a direction to provide political pension. The same was ordered on 17.07.2014. The petitioner has also sent a representation to the first respondent on 24.12.2014. But the same was not considered so far. Hence, the petitioner has come forward with the Writ Petition for the above stated relief.

Considering the submissions made, without going into the merits of the matter, this Court directs the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 23.04.2015, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner and it is for the first respondent to pass orders purely on merits. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No Costs.
