This writ petition is filed for writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent herein to extend the lease for collection of fee from the shop and vendors in the Weekly Shandy of Devathanapatti Town Panchayat, Periyakulam, Theni District, for a period of one year from 01.03.2021 to 28.02.2022 with an increase of 5% increase on the previous lease amount paid by the petitioner to the respondent in the wake of pandemic Covid-19 having lost life and livelihood.

2.The period stated in the prayer is already over. However, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent submitted that the petitioner's case was also considered for the subsequent period and the lease was extended until 31.03.2024.
3.Therefore, nothing survives for adjudication. Hence, the writ petition is closed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
