PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to take immediate and necessary action to ensure the safety of the petitioners brother A.Aswin Renjith Kumar thereby rescue him from Iran and consequently direct the respondents to send him back to India.

The writ petition is filed for a mandamus directing the respondents to take immediate and necessary action to ensure the safety of the petitioner's brother A. Aswin Ranjith Kumar and thereby rescue him from Iran and consequently direct the respondents to send him back to India.

2. Heard Mr.S.Titus, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Lingadurai, learned Special Government Pleader, who takes notice for R4 and Mr.K.Govindarajan, learned Deputy Solicitor General of India, who takes notice for R1 to R3.

3. When the matter came up for hearing today, the learned Deputy Solicitor General of India would submit that the Embassy of India in Tehran had issued an advisory on 16.03.2026. The advisory includes helpline numbers and an email ID. Indian citizens residing in Iran are advised to contact the embassy via these channels and the embassy is providing all possible assistance, despite the closure of ports and airports due to the ongoing war. While immediate evacuation is not currently possible and the Government of India is taking all necessary steps through the embassy in Tehran to assist in the rescue of citizens, including the petitioner's brother.

4. Therefore, it is for the petitioner's brother namely Mr.A. Aswin Ranjith Kumar to contact the embassy through the helpline or by the email. The embassy will provide the necessary advice and assistance.

5. Recording the same, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
