the petitioner the copies of beneficiaries' ground rent patta/Settlement Patta u/s.18(4) and 19(A) of Act 26/1948 as required by the petitioner in his representation dated 26.06.2023 and as per the order of 3rd respondent in Moo.Mu.H1/15011/2024-1 dated 27.09.2024 within the time to be stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

I have heard Mr.K.Vijayaraghavan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr.Raguvaran Gopalan, learned counsel for the first respondent and Mr.M.Lingadurai, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 2 to 4.

The petitioner seeks issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents 1 & 2 to provide the petitioner's copies of the beneficiaries ground rent patta / settlement patta under Section 18(4) and 19(A) of the Act 26/1948. The petitioner has already made a representation as early as on 26.06.2023. The grievance of the petitioner 2/5

is that though the petitioner sought for settlement patta issued under Act 26/1948, information has been provided under Act 30 of 1963. Therefore, the petitioner has once again given a representation seeking the correct information by way of first appeal under section 19(1) of the RTI Act.

3. In compliance with the appeal petition filed, some information has been provided to the petitioner which is enclosed at page 31 onwards in the typed set of papers. The said information is not legible and will not serve any purpose.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 2 to 4 would submit that the second respondent may be directed to furnish proper and correct information as sought for by the petitioner, within a stipulated time.

5. Considering the above submission made by the learned Special Government Pleader, the writ petition is disposed of directing the second respondent to provide information as sought for by the petitioner under 3/5

Act 26/1948 and shall ensure that the information provided is at least legible to the petitioner. The second respondent shall furnish the information within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
