Respondents This Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to provide free electricity connection in respect of Pump Set Well situated in S.No.719/2 at Kansapuram Village, Srivilliputhur Taluk, Virudhunagar District, by way of considering the petitioner's representation, dated 12.08.2015 in accordance with law pending disposal of the Writ Petition. ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed praying for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to provide free electricity connection in respect of Pump Set Well situated in S.No.719/2 at Kansapuram Village, Srivilliputhur Taluk, Virudhunagar District, by way of considering the petitioner's representation, dated 12.08.2015 in accordance with law.

2. Mr.G.Kasinathadurai, learned counsel takes notice for the respondents.

3. By consent, the Writ Petition itself is taken up final disposal.

4. The case of the petitioner that the petitioner is an agriculturist and he is doing agriculture work in the land

bearing Survey No.719/2 at Kansapuram Village, Srivilliputhur Taluk, Virudhunagar District. He applied for free electricity service connection before the second respondent. Based on the application submitted by the petitioner, the second respondent directed the petitioner to pay Rs.50/- to the third respondent as registration fee. The petitioner has also paid the registration fee. Thereafter, the petitioner approached the third respondent for several times, but no steps have been taken to give free electricity connection.

Finally, the petitioner made representation before the respondents on 12.08.2015. The same was not considered so far. Hence, the petitioner has come forward with the Writ Petition for the above stated relief.

5. Though the Writ Petition has been filed for a positive direction, this Court cannot give such a positive direction. However, without going into the merits of the averment made in the Writ Petition, a direction is issued to the third respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 12.08.2015, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No Costs.
