PRAYER:- Petition filed under Section 482 of Criminal Procedure Code, to direct respondents 1 to 3 to appoint Special Deputy Superintendent of Police as Investigating Officer, in Crime No.48 of 2016 dated 28.01.2016, on the file of the 4th respondent Police, instead of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sankarankovil as per Rule 7(1) of Prevention of Atrocities (Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes) Rules, 1995 and filing of final report in that case within the stipulated time as framed by this Court. ORDER

This petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to appoint a Special Deputy Superintendent of Police as Investigating Officer, in Crime No.48 of 2016 dated 28.01.2016, on the file of the 4th respondent Police, instead of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sankarankovil.

2.The learned Government Advocate would submit a closure report has been filed by the respondent Police on 08.02.2017 before the concerned Special Court.

3.In view of the above development, nothing survives in this criminal original petition. Liberty is granted to the petitioner to file a protest petition and proceed in accordance with law. 4.The Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above direction.
