ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed by the petitioners challenging the proceedings pending against them in Crime No. 3 of 2016, on the file of the first respondent police, based on the complaint of the second respondent, for the offences punishable under Section 406, 420, 498(A) of IPC and Section 3 & 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act.

2. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), on instructions from Mrs.S. Jamila Jeyarani, Head-Constable-1918, All Women Police Station, Nagercoil who is also present before this Court, has produced a copy of the final report filed and submit that the case in Crime No.3 of 2016 has been completed and closed, as no case is made out in R.C. No.19 of 2017. It is also stated that the learned Judicial Magistrate-II, Nagercoil, by his order, dated 06.01.2018 had also accepted the final report and closed the case in Crime No.3 of 2016 as 'Further Action Dropped'.

3. Under such circumstances, this Court is of the view that nothing survives for further adjudication and accordingly, this petition is dismissed. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
