ORDER

The writ petition is filed for a mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to receive the property tax amount pertaining to the property in S.No.09/04, 13/04 and 10/01 situated at Vannivelampatti Village, Madurai District. .

2. Heard Mr.S.Ramasamy, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.M.Senthil Ayyanar, learned Government Advocate, who takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

3. Upon hearing the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and perusing the material records of the case, the grievance of the petitioner is that the subject property belongs to the petitioner and the patta for the said property also stands in the name of the petitioner.

4. Per contra, the learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondents would submit that a person by name Sasikala, is also claiming the ownership in respect of the subject property. 2/4

5. In that view of the matter, the writ petition is allowed on the following terms:- i. The 1st respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 09.02.2026 for enquiry and issue due notice to the petitioner, the said Sasikala or any other interested parties. ii. On receipt of the same, the petitioner is directed to appear before the 1st respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a web copy of the order and produce all such documents in support of his claim.

iii. After hearing both sides, the 1st respondent shall decide the issue and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, in any event, not later than twelve weeks from the date of receipt of the web copy of the order, without waiting for the certified copy of the order. iv. No costs.
