Challenging the order passed by the Deputy Superintendent Of Police, Peraiyur, Madurai District/the fourth respondent, in rejecting the request of the petitioner for conducting Adalpadal programme in connection with Panguni Festival in Arulmigu Sri Manthaiamman Temple at Kurukampatti Village, Usilampatti Taluk, Madurai District, the petitioner has approached this Court.

2.Mr.T.Senthil Kumar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who takes notice for the respondents submits that due to announcement of election notification and in order to avoid any untoward incidents, the fourth respondent has rightly rejected the request of the petitioner for conducing Adal Padal Programme in the temple. However, the fourth respondent has permitted the petitioner to celebrate Panguni festival in the temple in a peaceful manner. 3.In view of the submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor that in view of the announcement of election notification, the request of the petitioner to conduct "Adal Padal Programme" was rejected, this writ petition is disposed of with a liberty to the petitioner to approach the concerned Assistant Returning Officer. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous petition is closed.
