Keeramangalam, Valluvar Street, Pasumai Nagar, Valakattai Village, Keeramangalam Village runs about 8 kms and a width of 50 feet ends with Panguni River Channel and to maintain the same for irrigation purpose about 370 acres of land spread over the Pitchandavar kovil village lands and Keeramangalam village lands, Mannachanallur Taluk and Lalgudi Taluk respectively in Trichy District.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by R.SUDHAKAR,J.) This writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents to clean and construct a concrete wall on both sides of the Keeramangalam Irrigation Channel Branches, out from Ayyan Vaikkal Channel situate at south of Uthamar Kovil, running through No.I Toll Gate, Keeramangalam, Valluvar Street, Pasumai Nagar, Valakattai Village, Keeramangalam Village, runs about 8 kms and a width of 50 feet, ends with Panguni River Channel and to maintain the same for irrigation purpose of 370 acres of land, spread over the Pitchandavar kovil village and Keeramangalam village, Mannachanallur Taluk and Lalgudi Taluk respectively in Trichy District.

2. The second respondent has filed a detailed counter, wherein at paragraphs - 8 & 9 it is clearly stated that the Department has cleaned the channel in dispute periodically and sufficient water for irrigation purpose is regularly supplied. It is also stated that estimate has been prepared to desilt the channel and after getting funds from the Government, steps will be taken up.

3. Recording the same, this writ petition is closed. No costs.
