O R D E R
This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to permit the Allinagaram Village Committee to conduct the Chithirai Festival at the Arulmighu Veerappa Ayyanar Temple, Allingaram, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 14.03.2025, within the specified time frame.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3.When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader, appearing on behalf of the respondents 2/5
1 and 2, submitted that there is a communal issue prevailing with regard to the conduct of the said temple festival, which may give rise to potential law and order problems. Furthermore, the temple in question is administered by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR & CE) Department and a Thakkar has also been appointed to administer the temple's affairs. Therefore, the temple festival will be conducted by the temple administration and that there is no bar to the petitioner to participate in the festival.
4. In view of the above submissions and taking note of the law and order issues that would arise out of the dispute within the community regarding the temple festival, this writ petition is dismissed. However, the petitioner may participate in the temple festival, subject to the regulations established by the temple administration and without causing any disruption to the peace and tranquility of the community as mandated by law. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
