2. The learned counsel for the petitioner seeks permission of this Court to withdraw this Criminal Original Petition and he has also made an endorsement to that effect.

3. In view of the above, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed as withdrawn. However, the first respondent police is directed to expeditiously investigate the matter and file a final report.
