PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of habeas corpus directing the respondents to produce the detenu or body of the detenu i.e., the petitioner's daughter namely Vijayalakshmi, aged about 20 years, D/o.Velladurai before this Court and to set her at liberty forthwith. O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA, J.] This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed by the father of the detenue seeking to produce the alleged detenu namely Vijayalakshmi before this Court.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents would submit that based on the complaint given the petitioner, a case has been registered in Cr.No. 28 of 2024 for 'Woman Missing'. During the course of investigation, it came to light that it is a case of elopement and later the alleged detenu had returned back

and she had refused to go along with her parents and now, she is staying in the third respondent's Home. However, the alleged detenu being major, if she desires to go along with her parents, the second respondent has no objection for the same.

3. Recording the above statement, this Habeas Corpus Petition is closed. The third respondent is directed to permit the detenu to go along with her parents if she express her willingness.
