petitioner's petition dated 02.02.2026 and pass appropriate orders under Section 23 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 for declaring the settlement deed registered as Document No.705/2020, on the file of the 3rd respondent Sub-Registrar, executed in favour of the 4th respondent as null and void, and consequently restrain the 4th respondent from in any manner alienating or encumbering the property comprised in Survey No.725B/3B, Patta No.703, measuring an extent of 0.05.5 hectares, situated at Thimalapuram Village, Sivagiri Taluk, Tenkasi District.

ORDER

The writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage, without notice to the fourth respondent. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that he has filed an application under Section 23 of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, and the same is pending before the second respondent. It is stated that the enquiry has already been conducted and only orders remain to be passed.

3. When the matter came up for hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader, taking notice on behalf of the respondents 1 and 2, submitted that if the enquiry has already been completed, orders would be passed, and if any further enquiry is required, the same would be conducted and orders would be passed, if reasonable time is granted.

4. In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of on the following terms:

The second respondent shall complete the enquiry, if not already completed, and pass orders on the petitioner's application dated 02.02.2026 as expeditiously as possible and, in any event, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a web copy of this order.
