PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to return the driving licence of the petitioner bearing D.L.TN 28-Z-19810000471 to him forthwith.

The petitioner seeks for a Mandamus directing the respondent to return the driving licence of the petitioner bearing No.D.L.TN 28-Z19810000471.

2. It is seen that the petitioner's driving licence was seized by the respondent in pursuant to an accident took place on 31.08.2014. It is further seen that the petitioner made a representation before the respondent seeking for return of the driving licence on 23.10.2014. Therefore, it is for the respondent to consider the said representation and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law.

3. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of only with a direction to the respondent to consider the said representation of the petitioner, dated 23.10.2014 and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No Costs.
