: Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to process the petitioner's application dated 22.03.2018 for a reduction of maximum demand to 125 KVA and to revise the current consumption bill in respect of HT SC No.203 for the period from June, 2018.

ORDER

The petitioner originally availed a load of 880 KVA. Now, because of change of circumstances, he has closed down the production and he is not in requirement of the power load from the respondents and, therefore, he submitted an application for reduction of power load and as of today, he is consuming electricity to the tune of 125 KVA. However, he was forced to pay a sum of https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Rs.3,07,821/- under the pretext that the total 880 KVA energy has been supplied to him. The petitioner made an application on 22.03.2018 for load reduction from the existing sanctioned demand of 880 KVA to 125 KVA. However, so far, the respondents have not passed any order. Because of this, the petitioner is put to great financial hardship. That is why, the petitioner is before this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.

3. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner, a direction is issued to the third respondent to consider and dispose of the application submitted by the petitioner for load reduction dated 22.03.2018 on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
