ORDER

The petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to dispose of the unnumbered appeal filed by the petitioner dated 26.05.2020 within the time fixed by this Court.

2.Mr.P.Kannithevan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondent.

3.By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

4.According to the petitioner, he preferred an appeal before the respondent on 26.05.2020, to cancel Patta Nos.1291 and 1289 and the said appeal is pending before the respondent at an un-numbered stage. Seeking to dispose of the un-numbered appeal, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition. 5.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent submitted that the un-numbered appeal filed by the petitioner will be disposed of within the time stipulated by this Court.

W.P(MD)No.7978 of 2020 6.Recording the aforesaid submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader and also considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for in the Writ Petition, this Court, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the matter, directs the respondent / the Revenue Divisional Officer, Thanjavur to dispose of the un-numbered appeal filed by the petitioner dated 26.05.2020, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7.With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
