Petitions filed under Article 227 of the Constitution of India, praying to direct the Principal District and Sessions Court, Madurai, to dispose of the Guardian and Wards Original Petition GWOP. Nos.33 & 44 of 2014, which are pending on his file, within a stipulated time.

For Petitioner in both the petitions : Mr.A.R.Kannappan For respondent in both the petitions : No appearance COMMON ORDER These civil revision petitions have been filed by the petitioner / husband, seeking a direction to the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Madurai, to dispose of G.W.O.P.Nos.33 and 44 of 2014 within a stipulated time.

2. It is stated in the petitions that after getting a decree for dissolution of marriage, the respondent / wife has filed a petition in G.W.O.P.No.33 of 2014 on the file of the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Madurai, seeking the custody of the minor child by name Karismika. Seeking the very same relief, the revision petitioner / husband has also filed a petition in G.W.O.P.No.44 of 2014. The grievance of the revision petitioner is that though both the GWOPs have been pending from a long time, they are being adjourned periodically on the request of the respondent herein and hence, he has come forward with these petitions for the aforesaid prayer.

3. It is seen from the record that the notice sent to the respondent has been returned with an endorsement "Door Locked". However, considering the limited relief sought for by the petitioner and also the order to be passed in this petition, no fresh notice need be sent to the respondent.

4. Considering the limited relief sought for by the revision petitioner, without going into the merits and demerits of the allegation raised by the revision petitioner, both the civil revision petitions are disposed of with the following directions: The learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Madurai is directed to dispose of G.W.O.P.Nos.33 and 44 of 2014, pending on his file, on merits and in accordance with law, as early as possible, preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

5. No order as to cost.
