O R D E R
[Order of the Court was made by S.S.SUNDAR, J.] The Contempt Petition is filed alleging wilful disobedience of the order of this Court dated 02.02.2021, passed in W.P.(MD) No.1572 of 2021.
2. The petitioner has filed the Writ Petition in W.P.(MD) No.1572 of 2021, for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to widen the Kallanai Kalvai Road from Vettikadu to Eachankottai for a distance of 12 kilometers into two lane based on the petitioner's representation dated 07.03.2020.
3. This Court has directed the respondents to take appropriate action by considering the prayer sought-for for widening the road. Considering the difficulty of the respondents to allocate funds this Court has only expressed hope and trust that the respondents would consider the issue and undertake the said exercise, as expeditiously as possible.
4. Pursuant to the order of this Court, it is stated that the project of widening the road has commenced and a few portions of the work has been completed. Learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondents would submit that substantial work will be completed during 2023-2024.
5. From the order of this Court dated 02.02.2021 made in W.P.(MD) No.1572 of 2021, we find that this Court was cautious in making an observation that the respondent would consider and undertake the project as expeditiously as possible, depending upon the fund allocation. In such circumstances, there is no positive direction by this Court to complete the work in a time schedule. This Court do not find any wilful disobedience of the order of this Court.
