O R D E R
The facts involved in the present case reveals that the petitioner participated in the process of selection for appointment to the post of Sub-Inspector of Police. During the relevant point of time he was holding the post of Grade-II Police Constable in Tamil Nadu Police Service. He submitted an application under the Departmental quota and participated in the process of selection for appointment to the post of Sub-Inspector of Police.
2. The case of the petitioner was rejected on the ground that a criminal case was registered against him in Crime No.12 of 2017 under Sections 406, 498(A), 294(b) and 506(i) IPC. The petitioner suppressed 2/6
the fact regarding pendency of the criminal case against him at the time of submission of the application. This Court relying on the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Commissioner of Police Vs. Raj Kumar in C.A.No.4960 of 2021 dated 25.08.2021 dismissed the Writ Petition.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner was acquitted from the criminal case even before submission of the application. Therefore, the criminal case was not pending at the time of submission of application.
4. Even in respect of acquittal order, the candidate submitting application has to furnish the details. That apart, character and antecedence are to be verified by the selection Committee. Suitability and eligibility being subjective satisfaction of the Selection Committee, the Court cannot substitute its views.
5. In the present case, the case of the petitioner was rejected in respect of the selection under in-service quota. That apart, the grounds raised in the Review Application relating to merits cannot be readjudicated. Scope of review cannot be expanded under Order 47 Rule 1 of the Code of Civil Procedure.

6. Since there is no error apparent on the face of the record, the present Review Application stands dismissed.
No costs.
