This petition has been filed seeking to direct the 3rd respondent to issue patta in petitioner's favour in respect of the property comprised in S.F.No. 5596/0, Ward A, Block 75, admeasuring to an extent of 0324 sq.mtr. = 3900 sq.ft. situated at Kavinadu West, South Natham Pannai, Pudukkottai (North), Pudukkottai Taluk and District based on the petitioner's representation dated 12.02.2026 after making necessary changes in the revenue records within a stipulated time may be fixed by this Court.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner's application had already been considered on 15.12.2025, pursuant to which the Revenue Tahsildar passed an order holding that the land had been wrongly 2/5
classified as PWD land and directing its deletion from such classification, with a further direction to issue patta to the petitioner. It was further submitted that the District Revenue Officer, by order dated 04.04.2024, had also passed an order in favour of the petitioner. In such circumstances, the Tahsildar ought to have issued patta in light of the said orders.
3. The learned Special Government Pleader submitted that although the earlier order was passed and the petitioner has submitted a fresh application on 12.02.2026 only. Therefore, the respondents seeks time to consider the same and pass appropriate orders, including issuance of patta to the petitioner.
4. Considering the above facts, this Court directs the 3rd respondent to consider the petitioner's claim in the light of the earlier order passed by the Revenue Authorities and issue patta within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
