: Respondents PRAYER: Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to allow the petitioner's husband (Namely K.Moorthy aged 54 years) Life Convict No.5414 to grant free ordinary leave or free emergency leave or free medical leave or prisoners children education leave or prisoners mothers death emergency leave and any one of them may be granted for the period of 5 weeks as request as per the representation of the petitioner dated 19.06.2020. ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by K.KALYANASUNDARAM, J) This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant leave to the petitioner's husband, namely, K.Moorthy, Life Convict No.5414 as per the petitioner's representation dated 19.06.2020. 2.Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, Mr.R.Anandharaj, learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the representation of the petitioner was favourable considered by the third respondent and the petitioner's husband was granted three days leave by an order dated 27.08.2020. It is further submitted that the convict has not availed leave as there is no bus facility for travelling from Madurai to Salem and whenever, the convict is ready, he can avail the leave already granted by the third respondent.
