O R D E R

The petitioner seeks a direction for the expeditious disposal of the appeal pending before the respondent in Pa.Me.Mu.Si.Pa.No.845/22 dated 20.09.2022.

2. The petitioner states that he is the owner of the properties described in paragraph No.3 of the affidavit in support of the petition. The petitioner asserts that the said property was purchased under Sale Deeds bearing Nos.4922 of 2005 and 4923 of 2005 dated 24.10.2005. He further states that the patta stands in his name. In the circumstances, it is alleged that the Tahsildar mutated the patta in favour of one S.G.Muthukani. In the said circumstances, the petitioner presented an appeal before the respondent herein. Since the said appeal has not been disposed of till date, the present writ petition is filed.

3. On instructions, learned Additional Government Pleader submits that the appeal would be disposed of in about twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. In view of the said submission, W.P.(MD).No.7481 of 2023 is disposed of by directing the respondent to dispose of the pending appeal dated 20.09.2022 within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner, S.G.Muthukani and any other person interested in the dispute. There shall be no order as to costs.
