ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking direction to the 3rd respondent herein to give necessary police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner and his family members, on the basis of the petitioner's compliant, dated 17.03.2019. 1/3

2.When the matter was taken up for hearing on 08.11.2021, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that based upon the representation made by the petitioner, enquiry is undertaken and the petitioner has appeared on 01.04.2018. Thereafter, he has not appeared. Today when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) circulated the statement copies of the petitioner and sixth respondent. The sixth respondent had given a statement that he will not trouble the petitioner and on that basis this petition has been closed. Similarly the petitioner appeared on 01.04.2018 and had given a statement that he will appear for enquiry as and when required. But the petitioner did not appear before the enquiry officer thereafter.

3.Since the petitioner did not appear for enquiry, the question of harassment at the hands of respondent police may not arise. However, if any further proceedings are initiated by the authority in future, the petitioner is at liberty to workout his remedy through appropriate proceedings.

4.With the above liberty, this criminal original petition is dismissed as infructuous.
