This Writ Petition has been filed for a mandamus, seeking for a direction to the first respondent to sanction salary on par with the petitioner's Junior, A.Ranganathan, with effect from 06.07.2006 and to disburse arrears of salary and all other consequential, attendant and monetary benefits to the petitioner, and to refix his pension from the date of retirement, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

3. The second respondent has also stated, in paragraph No.9 of the counter-affidavit, that the benefits of the petitioner's junior Mr.A.Ranganathan, getting more pay by virtue of the implementation of the Revised Scale of Pay Rule 2009, can be extended to the petitioner.
4. The second respondent has also sent a proposal to the first respondent on 17.05.2023 recommending the case of the petitioner. Admittedly, the proposal sent by the second respondent is yet to be considered by the first respondent. No prejudice would be caused to the first respondent if the proposal of the second respondent dated 17.05.2023 seeking to rectify the pay anamoly of the petitioner on par with the petitioner's junior Mr.A.Ranganathan, is considered on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame to be 3/6
fixed by this Court, after giving due consideration to the fact that the petitioner is senior to Mr.A.Ranganathan.

For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the first respondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law on the proposal of the second respondent, dated 17.05.2023, recommending the case of the petitioner for rectification of his pay anamoly with that of Mr.A.Renganathan, his junior, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the aforesaid direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. 12.09.2025 NCC:yes/no Index:yes/no Internet:yes/no TSG 4/6
