Mr.P.Thilak Kumar, learned Standing Counsel for the Government, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to transfer the patta in respect of S.F.Nos.336-2, 32-3, 340-11, 341-4, 341-5, 342-5, 343-20, 42-2, 42-4, 42-7, 333-3, 337-2, 333-1, 336-8, 334-2, 343-22, 15-1, 15-3, 335-6 and 343-21 in Patta No.1114 situate in Melamelanilai Revenue Village, Ponnamaravathy Taluk, Pudukkottai 1/3
District from the petitioner's father's name to the petitioner by considering the petitioner's representation dated 24.04.2021.
4. The case of the petitioner is that the aforesaid property was given to the petitioner's family as Inam Settlement by the then Princely State of Pudukkottai in the year 1895. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that after the demise of the petitioner's father on 17.04.2012, it is necessary to transfer the patta in petitioner's name, for which, he applied through online on 09.03.2021. Also, the petitioner sent a representation to the respondents on 24.04.2021. Since no action has been taken by the respondents till date, the petitioner has come before this Court with the present Writ Petition.
5. The learned counsel for the petitioner would state that it would be suffice, if a direction is issued to the respondents, to dispose of the representation of the petitioner.
6. The learned standing counsel for the respondents would state that the representation of the petitioner would be considered within a reasonable time.
7. Considering the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the respondents and in the light of the facts and circumstances of the case, without going into the merits of the case projected by the petitioner either in his representation or in this Writ Petition, the respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 24.04.2021, on merits and in accordance with law and take appropriate action, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
8. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No Costs.
