Prayer :- Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C., to call for the records and quash the proceedings against the petitioner/1st Accused in Spl.C.C.No.18/2009 on the file of the Principal District & Sessions Judge, Thoothukudi.

ORDER:- This Petition coming on for hearing on this day under the caption for "Extension of time"and upon perusing the earlier order dated 17.08.2023 and the requisition letter submitted by the Principal District & Sessions Judge, Thoothukudi,vide the letter in D.No.1167/2024 dated 19.02.2024, this Court made the following order:

This Court vide orders dated 17.08.2023 directed the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Thoothukudi to complete the trial proceedings in Spl.C.C.No.18

of 2009, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of that order.

2. Now, the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Thoothukudi vide a letter dated 19.02.2024 bearing D.No.1167/2024 has expressed his inability to complete the trial proceedings in Spl.C.C.No.18 of 2009. He therefore sought extension of time to complete the trial proceedings in Spl.C.C.No.18 of 2009.

3. Being satisfied with the reasons stated by the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Thoothukudi in his letter dated 19.02.2024, this Court is inclined to extend the time to dispose of the case in Spl.C.C.No.18 of 2009. The learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Thoothukudi is directed to dispose of the case in Spl.C.C.No.18 of 2009 as expeditiously as possible.
