ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the first respondent to change the name of the deceased's husband as Ramasamy instead of Rajan in the Death Certificate issued by the first respondent dated 17.10.2022, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 27.07.2023.

2. The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that inadvertently the deceased husband name was given as Ramasamy instead of Rajan in the Death Certificate. Therefore, the petitioner's representation may be considered to change the name of the deceased husband.

3. The learned Counsel appearing for the first respondent filed a counter affidavit stating that there is no provision to change the name once the certificate has been issued, and therefore, the same cannot be modified.

4. The learned Counsel appearing for the second respondent submitted that the second respondent is having no objection to the request made by the petitioner and have also issued a No Objection Certificate to the petitioner. 2/4

5. In view of the above, this Court is directing the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation in the light of No Objection Certificate issued by the second respondent and take necessary action for rectification. The said exercise shall completed within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above said directions, this Writ Petition is allowed. There shall be no order as to costs.
