Respondents (R4 to R7 were impleaded as per the order of this court dated 30.01.2024 in WMP(MD) No.19974/2022) PRAYER :- Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner for laying the pipeline work to transport the water to downstream reservoir of the Devipattinam village and consequently direct the 3rd respondent to take action against the persons who resisting to do the work for installing the pipeline, by considering the Petitioner's representations dated 21.03.2022, in accordance with law, within the time stipulated by this court.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner for laying the pipeline work to transport the water to downstream reservoir of the Devipattinam village and consequently direct the 3rd respondent to take 2/52/5

action against the persons who resisting to do the work for installing the pipeline, by considering the Petitioner's representation dated 21.03.2022, in accordance with law, within the time stipulated by this court. 2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has sought for police protection in order to lay a pipeline work to transport the water to downstream reservoir of the Devipattinam village, he made a representation to the respondent police. Since the same has not been considered so far, he is before this court with this writ petition.

4. Without going into the merits of the case, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 21.03.2022 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after providing 3/53/5

opportunity to both sides and the aggrieved parties, if any. The petitioner is directed to produce a copy of the representation along with a copy of this order enabling the respondents to pass orders. 30.01.2024 TO
