ORDER

The writ petition is filed for a mandamus directing the 1st respondent to issue a passport to the petitioner by processing his application in File No.MDA075023540625 based on petitioner representation dated 24.06.2025.

2. Heard Mr.B.Arun, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr.R.Ramanathasethupathi, learned Standing Counsel, who takes notice for R1 and Mr.K.Gnanasekaran, learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), who takes notice for R2.

3. When the matter came up for hearing today, the learned learned Standing Counsel appearing for the 1st respondent would submit that in view of the pendency of the criminal case, the same was not considered.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the 2nd respondent would submit that initially the petitioner was arrayed as an accused in Cr.No.16 of 2025, however, after investigation, in the alteration report, the petitioner's name has been deleted from the case. In view thereof, the same is no longer an impediment for the issue of the passport.

5. The writ petition is allowed on the following terms:- i.

Within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a web copy of the order, the 1st respondent shall process the application and issue a passport to the petitioner, if there is no other impediment.

ii. No costs.
