The writ petitioner had prepared a draft of a Gift Settlement Deed which was dated 17.02.2023 and had presented the draft for registration. The writ petition has been filed since the respondent / Sub Registrar, Lalgudi Sub Registrar Office, Trichy District, according to the petitioner had refused to register the Gift Settlement Deed.

2. Let a fresh date be obtained by the petitioner through online and thereafter, let the original of the Gift Settlement Deed be presented for registration, after payment of necessary stamp duty and registration charges. The respondent may either register it or if there are any objections or reservations in registering it, give necessary reasons in the form of refusal check slip to the petitioner herein.

3. No further orders are required.

4. The writ petition stands disposed of, as the cause would arise only when the petitioner actually presents the document for registration and he has not so done it.

5. The learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner would present the document within a period of two (2) weeks. Let him so do it and if whenever it is presented within a further period of two (2) weeks, a decision must be taken by the respondent either to register it or refuse to register it.
