ORDER

The present petition has been filed seeking to quash the FIR in Crime No.20 of 2026 on the file of the first respondent police for the alleged offences under Sections 189 (2) and 285 of BNS, 2023.

2. A perusal of the FIR reveals that that the petitioners have jointly blocked the road for seeking a provision of dustbin in their locality. There are no allegations whatsoever as against the petitioners that they have caused any damaged to the public property or hindrance to the general public. They have peacefully demonstrated to draw the attention of the officials for providing dustbin in their locality.

3. Considering the fact that the allegations as against the petitioners are frivolous in nature, no useful purpose would be served by directing the police officials to continue the investigation.

4. Accordingly, FIR in Crime No.20 of 2026, dated 14.02.2026 on the file of the first respondent is quashed and this Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. Consequently connected Miscellaneous Petition stands closed.
