O R D E R

This petition has been filed to expedite the trial in S.C.No.153 of 2019 on the file of the Assistant Sessions Court, Valliyoor, Tirunelveli District.

2. The petitioner is the fifth accused in the above said Sessions Case. According to the petitioner, even though crime was registered and final report was filed in the year 2016 and committal proceedings was also over in the year 2017 itself, trial is pending for two years, without any progress. Hence, the present petition has been filed.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent, on instructions, submitted that in the above said Sessions Case, charges are yet to be framed and the matter is posted for framing charges on 30.09.2019.

4. Considering the fact that in the above said Sessions Case, even charges are yet to be framed, at this stage, a direction to expedite the trial cannot be granted. Hence, the Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. However, after framing of charges and after questioning is over, if the trial is not commenced, the petitioner is at liberty to move this Court seeking for appropriate relief.
