Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1 to 7th respondents to exhume the dead body of Nurgis Banu buries in Old S.No.87/3 New S.No.87/3A in Patta No.1242 of Pandaravadai Village, Papanasam Taluk, Thanjavur District and bury the same in some other suitable place.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by R.SUDHAKAR,J.) The present writ petition has been filed in public interest contending that without proper licence, body of one Nurgis Banu has been buried in a patta land. The Panchayat President has issued a https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ letter to that effect.

2.Normally, we expect the panchayat to act immediately, if there is any violation of law. Therefore, we only call upon the District Collector to instruct the revenue officials to cause an inspection on the basis of the letter issued by the Panchayat President and deal with the matter in accordance with law, so as to give quietus to the issue.
