Respondents Prayer: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to constitute a fresh Town Vending Committee after conducting election from amongst the street vendors in Tirunelveli District under Section 22 of the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014 and Rule 11, 12 & 13 of the Tamil Nadu Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood, Regulation of Street Vending) Rules, 2015 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 16.12.2021.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for R1 and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for R2 & R3.

2. The only request made in the writ petition is for directing the respondents to constitute a fresh Town Vending Committee. As on date, no such committee has been constituted. As per the provisions https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD)No.8466 of 2022 of the said Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014, there must be a Town Vending Committee.

3. The respondents are directed to constitute such a committee within three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
