ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a writ of Mandamus to grant the benefit of weightage for the period of 4 years and other attendant benefits by considering petitioner's representation dated 10.2.2026

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.J.K.Jeyaseelan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for Respondents and the writ petition is disposed off at the admission stage with the consent of both the parties.

The petitioner herein, working as a Watchman in the 3rd respondent Temple, took Voluntary retirement at the age of 56 years and thereafter, the petitioner made a claim for weightage of service in terms of orders issued by the Government in G.O.(Ms)No.197 Personnel and Administrative Reforms (FR-IV) Department, dated 24.10.2008, whereby, Fundamental Rule 56 was amended and accordingly, submitted a representation dated 10.02.2026. It is complaining against the non consideration of the said representation, the petitioner filed the present writ petition.

4. Mr.J.K.Jeyaseelan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that respondents would consider the representation dated 10.02.2026 submitted by the petitioner in accordance with law.

5. In the light of the above, without going into the merits of the matter, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents to consider the representation dated 10.02.2026 submitted by the petitioner, 3/6

for extending the benefit in terms of Rule 56, as amended in G.O(Ms) No.197 dated 24.10.2008, as expeditiously as possible, at any rate within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of this order. No costs.
