Seeking a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Madurai to expedite the trial in C.C.No.57 of 2017 within a time frame, the petitioner has come up with this petition.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, would submit that the above said case has been posted on 26.07.2018 for framing of charges. He further submitted that since the said post is vacant at present, the in-charge Magistrate is conducting the cases.

4. According to the petitioner the case has been registered in Crime No.64 of 2014. Thereafter, the charge sheet has been taken on file as C.C.No.57 of 2017 by the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Madurai. He further submitted that already the case is pending for four years. Therefore, the petitioner has approached this Court seeking a direction to expedite the trial.

5. Considering the above said facts and circumstances and also taking into consideration of the petitioner's submission, the

learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Madurai is directed to dispose of C.C.No.57 of 2017 as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of eight months from the date of receipt of the copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
