O R D E R

This petition has been filed seeking police protection.

2. The grievance of the petitioners is that, the first petitioner is a widow and the second petitioner is her daughter. The respondents 3 to 5 herein are her in-laws. After the death of her husband, the respondents 3 to 5 compelled her to marry the deceased brother, when she refused, the respondents 3 to 5 have forcibly taken the second petitioner from the custody of the first petitioner. Hence, she made a representation to the first respondent, but, the same has not been considered so far. 3. Today, when the matter came up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) appearing for the first and second respondents, on instructions, submitted that based on the complaint given by the first petitioner, enquiry has been conducted, in which, the first petitioner herself appeared and gave a statement that she is not interested in further proceeding with the complaint and the child was also handed over to her. Recording the statement of the first petitioner, complaint has been closed.

4. Considering the fact that already the complaint has been closed and the child has been returned to the first petitioner, at this stage, the prayer sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted. Hence, the Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
