ORDER

With the consent of the learned counsel appearing on either side, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal, at the admission stage.

2. The petitioner seeks survey and sub-division of the free house site allotted to the petitioner. The petitioner has made an application for survey and subdivision way back on 31.08.2023 and thereafter, again made an application on 01.03.2025.

3. I have heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.Kameswaran, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the only document, on which reliance placed on, is an assignment order issued by the then Tahsildar. He would further submit that subject to the genuineness of the said assignment order, the respondents would proceed to conduct survey based on the petitioner's application dated 01.03.2025.

The writ petition is therefore disposed of directing the third respondent to verify the genuineness of the assignment order on which reliance is placed on by the petitioner and subject to the findings that the said assignment of free house site is genuine, then the third respondent shall conduct a survey and dispose of the petitioner's application dated 01.03.2025, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The third respondent shall also conduct an enquiry as to whether the assignment conditions have been satisfied and pass necessary orders.

6. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
