This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 5 herein to prevent the 6th respondent from carrying out any illegal quarrying of sand from the famous Nattar River Bed situated near Athivayal Kanmoi, Sirur, Ilayangudi Taluk, Sivagangai District.

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 to 5 herein to prevent the 6th respondent from carrying out any illegal quarrying of sand from the famous Nattar River Bed situated https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

near Athivayal Kanmoi, Sirur, Ilayangudi Taluk, Sivagangai District.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate, appearing for the respondents submitted that illegal quarrying has been stopped and as of now, there is no illegal quarrying and therefore, the prayer in the Writ Petition has become infructuous.
