This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents herein not to harass the petitioner in the guise of enquiry.
2.Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor has produced a copy of the status report filed by the second respondent and submitted that since the allegations levelled in the complaint are related to matrimonial dispute, the complaint has been referred to the District Social Welfare Officer, Ramanathapuram, to enquire into the complaint. He further submitted that even though both the parties agreed to settle their disputes on or before 20.06.2018, they did not turn up for settlement as promised. In order to avoid the settlement, now, the petitioner has filed the present Criminal Original Petition and there is no harassment or threat to withdraw the complaint by the respondent police. He also submitted that after getting necessary report from the District Social Welfare https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
Officer, Ramanathapuram, further action will be taken on the complaint of the petitioner.
3.Recording the above said submissions made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent police to proceed further in accordance with law after getting necessary report from the District Social Welfare Officer, Ramanathapuram.
