ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by N. ANAND VENKATESH,J.) This petition has been filed by the father of the detenu seeking for a direction to the first and second respondents to produce the body of his son and to set him at liberty.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

3. The case of the petitioner is that his son went missing from 04.02.2026 onwards and he was not able to contact his son. Hence, a representation was made to the first and second respondents on 10.03.2025 in this regard. Since the same did not evoke any response, the present petition has been filed before this court.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that based on a complaint given by the petitioner, a man missing FIR in Crime No.85 of 2026 has been registered by the second respondent and in the course of investigation, the detenu was able to be traced at Palakkad, Kerala. He further submitted that the second respondent will ascertain the whereabouts of the detenu and produce him before the concerned Jurisdictional Magistrate.

5. In the light of the above submission, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to find the whereabouts of the detenu and produce him before the learned Judicial Magistrate No.IV, Madurai. The learned Judicial Magistrate shall record the statement of the detenu and proceed further in accordance with law.
