ORDER

These criminal original petitions have been filed seeking direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Pudukkottai to expedite the trial process in S.T.C.Nos.385, 387, 553, 373 & 386 of 2016 and complete the same within the time frame fixed by this Court.

2.In all these matters, the accused/respondent is facing charges under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act. The grievance of the petitioner is that even though all the cases have https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

Crl.O.P.(MD)Nos.8774 to 8778 of 2019 been registered in the year 2016, no progress has been made and all the cases are pending. The learned counsel for the respondent who is the accused before the trial Court has no objection to pass any direction, since the respondent is facing charges and the matter has been listed for defence side evidence.

3.Considering the oldness of the matter the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Pudukkottai is hereby directed to expedite the trial process in S.T.C.Nos.385, 387, 553, 373 & 386 of 2016 and dispose of the same within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. After disposing the cases, compliance report must be submitted to the Registry. 4.Accordingly, these criminal original petitions are allowed.
