O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by S.Vimala,J.,) This petition has been filed by the petitioner/wife seeking a direction to produce her husband/detenu, namely, Victor Arockiyadoss, aged 37 years before this Court and set him at liberty.

2. According to the petitioner, her husband/detenu is a railway employee and he was found missing from 07.06.2015. He had two children, aged 14 years and 11 years respectively and employed as Colony Gangman in Madurai Division from the year 2007. Hence, the petitioner lodged a complaint with the respondent police and since no effective steps were taken, she is before this Court with this petition.

3.The respondent police have filed a status report, wherein, it is stated that having regard to the habits of the detenu, investigation being done in several areas; Publication has been given in all leading local Tamil Newspapers; Advertisement has also https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

been given in local TV channels. The details regarding the detenu has been sent to all local police stations, the mortuaries of Virudhunagar Government Hospitals have been verified, de-addiction centres have also been visited and despite all possible steps put in by the Investigating Officers, they are not able to trace out the detenu.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that however, the police will continue the investigation and if at all any useful information is received, the petitioner would be intimated.

5. Recording the said undertaking given by the Additional Public Prosecutor, this Habeas Corpus Petition is closed with a direction to the respondents to communicate the petitioner the progress of the investigation as well as any information regarding the availability of the detenu.
