O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] It is the case of the petitioner that his daughter Saranya went missing and in connection with which, on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Alangudi Police Station Crime No.288 of 2017 has been registered on 30.07.2017 for woman missing. While so, not being satisfied with the investigation conducted by the Alangudi Police, the petitioner has filed the present habeas corpus petition.

2. It is seen that the case has been transferred from the file of Alangudi Police Station to the file of the C.B.C.I.D., Pudukottai and the investigation is in progress. The C.B.C.I.D., has filed a status report, dated 04.02.2019 setting out the steps taken by them for tracing the woman. It is also stated that they found an unclaimed mutilated body and when D.N.A.profiling was done, it was found that the body was of a male. However, it is seen that the investigation is in progress and several telephone numbers have been secured by the C.B.C.I.D., and surveillance is being maintained.

3. On a perusal of the status report, we do not find any infirmity in the investigation done sofar for this Court to interfere.

4. In the result, the habeas corpus petition is closed with a direction to the Investigation Officer of the C.B.C.I.D., to keep the petitioner informed of the progress of the investigation from time to time.
