O R D E R
[Order of the Court was made by A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA, J.] The petitioner has filed this habeas corpus petition seeking a direction to the respondents to secure his daughter, namely, Manikkavasuki, aged about 24 years, produce her before this Court and set her at liberty.
2. On 08.04.2024, when the matter came up for hearing, the alleged detenue was produced before this Court by Ms.C.Samila Begum, Sub Inspector of Police, Kariyapatti Police Station, Virudhunagar District and the respondent - Police submitted that the detenue had gone on her own volition along with his cousin brother Arun Pandi and they were located at Thondi in Ramnad District. When we enquired the detenue, she submitted that she is suffering from some ailments and she needed medical help. Therefore, on her request, we had directed the second respondent - Police to subject her to medical examination and produce her before this Court today.
3. Today, the respondent - Police have produced the detenue before this Court. The parents of the detenue as well as the said Arun Pandi are also present before this Court. We enquired the detenue. On enquiry, the
detenue expressed her willingness to go along with her relative Arun Pandi and not willing to go along with her parents, since she is having some ailments.
4. We find that the detenue is a major aged about 24 years and she is not in illegal detention of anybody. Therefore, no further adjudication is required in this habeas corpus petition.
