PRAYER: This Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. to direct the respondents to provide adequate police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner and her family members based on the petitioner's representation dated 11.06.2018 within the time limit.

ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to provide adequate police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner and her family members, based on the petitioner's representation dated 11.06.2018 within the stipulated time.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that a case has been registered against the petitioner's second son, with the allegation that he committed murder. Due to that motive, the relatives of the deceased came to the petitioner's house and threatened her by using filthy language. He further submitted that one Chinna Varadhan along with others developed quarrel with the petitioner and her family members and damaged the house hold articles also. Since there is a life threat to the petitioner and her family members, she made a representation dated 11.06.2018 before the respondent police for providing police protection. said representation has not been considered so far. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present petition for the aforesaid relief. 3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondent police would submit that since the son of the petitioner namely Kuruvi @ Vijay was not arrested in connection with the Crime No.255 of 2018, there was frequent quarrel with the petitioner by the villagers. Now, the said accused has been arrested in connection with the said Crime Number. Therefore, there is no apprehension of threat to the petitioner at the hands of the proposed accused. 4.In view of the above submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side), this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. However, liberty is given to the petitioner to submit a fresh representation to the respondents herein, if need be.
