ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by M.DURAISWAMY,J.) The petitioner has filed the above writ petition, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the third and fourth respondents to take necessary action and file a report before the first respondent, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 21.05.2018 and further direct the first respondent to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation, within a timeframe. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that in spite of the petitioner's representation dated 21.05.2018,

for desilting the Kokoarasan Kanmoi, the respondents have not taken any action so far. Further, the learned counsel submitted that in view of the long delay in passing orders on the petitioner's representation, the villagers are put to hardship and prejudice.

3. Mr.M.Pandiarajan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for respondents 1 to 3 and Mr.A.Thiagarajan, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the fourth respondent.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 submitted that the first respondent may be directed to consider the petitioner's representation and pass orders in accordance with law, within a timeframe.

5. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing on either side and taking into consideration the limited scope of the prayer sought for in this writ petition, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, we direct the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 21.05.2018 and pass orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With this direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No Costs.
