same as illegal and consequently direct the 4th respondent to make necessary corrections by changing the petitioner's grandfather's name as Nellaiappa Thevar instead of Chellaia Thevar in Patta No.5303 of Survey No. 411/3 Kavalakurichi Village, Alangulam Taluk, Tenkasi District. For Petitioner : Mr.D.Saravanan For Respondents : Mrs.S.Jeyapriya Government Advocate

ORDER

The petitioner challenges the online rejection of the petitioner's request for correction of his grandfather's name. The petitioner has made an application on 10.02.2025. However, on the same day, the said application was rejected by a message sent to the petitioner on his mobile phone number.

2. I have gone through the affidavit filed in support of the writ affidavit and also the order impugned in the present writ petition. It is clear that when the petitioner made an application seeking corrections of his grandfather's name only on 10.02.2025, it is not known, how within few minutes the respondents can reject the said application on the very same day. The impugned order has been passed without hearing the 2/5

petitioner or even considering the case of the petitioner.

3. In view of the above, the impugned order is set aside and the matter is remitted to the fourth respondent for passing orders on the petitioner's request for corrections of his grandfather's name. If the mistake has crept in after UDR, then the fourth respondent himself shall make necessary correction subject to being satisfied with the claim of the petitioner. If the correction is prior to UDR, then the Tahsildar shall forward a report to the second respondent, who shall thereafter pass orders. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. In the result, the writ petition is allowed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. Index : Yes / No NCC : Yes / No 28.03.2025 am 3/5
