*********** [Order of the Court was made by R.SUBBIAH, J.] The petitioner is the father of the detenu Mathavi, aged about 27 years.

2. In the affidavit, it has been stated that the detenu Mathavi, aged about 27 years has completed D.T.E.D., Course and M.A. After completion of her studies, she got a job in a private school by name I.M.S. School situated at Thondi, Thiruvadanai Taluk, Ramanathapuram District. The marriage was fixed for her with one Udthamaseelan on her consent, on 04.09.2017. In such situation, she went missing from 22.08.2017. Later, the petitioner came to know that she was abducted by third respondent. Hence, he lodged a complaint before the respondent police. Since no effective steps have been taken, he has filed the present Habeas Corpus Petition.

Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the Superintendent of Police, Thiruvadanai was present and produced a file and based on the same, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the victim was secured and was produced before the Judicial Magistrate No.I, Thiruvadanai, where the detenu given a statement that she is a major and she got married with the third respondent and she is not willing to go along with her father. That apart, she has given a letter to the Inspector of Police stating that she married the third respondent and both of them are residing at Tuticorin and she is not interested in joining with the petitioner.

4. In view of the above, we are of the opinion that nothing survives for adjudication in the Habeas Corpus Petition. Accordingly, the Habeas Corpus Petition is closed. Sd/- Assistant Registrar(Writs) /True Copy/ Sub Assistant Registrar To 1.The Superintendent of Police, Ramanathapuram District.
